Ultra Sound

7 Months

We got the glider for the nursery in this last week. Adam and his grandpa put it together. It is really comfortable, good thing since I have a feeling we will be using it a lot!

And the bump keeps growing.......
Our next appointment is January 7th, we start going every two weeks. The pregnancy seems to be going much quicker these days. Lots of planning and things to get ready. We have ordered the nursery furniture and are scheduled to take our birthing class and infant CPR.

Glucose and Iron

Today I had a regular check-up along with the glucose and iron test. I had to drink this orange fizzy stuff in 5 minutes and then wait one hour so they could prick my finger and run the 2 tests. I passed both tests no problem. My doctor says things are looking good, we are on track for healthy baby and healthy mommy.

Stay tuned for my 7 month picture next week.

Baby Shower

In October on our way back from Oregon my family had a baby shower for us in Iowa. It was nice to spend an evening with all these wonderful ladies who have shared a part in my life over the last 29 years! There were many stories shared about me growing up and about my mom. The ones about my mom were my favorite, it was nice to have her remembered that night too.

Here are a few pics from the evening.........................

My sister Rachael made a slide show for the shower too, you may get a few laughs when you see these old pictures of me. :)

Is it a BOY or a GIRL????

We are having a beautiful baby Girl! Abigail Rae Straw is still set to arrive around March 17, 2009. We had an ultrasound today and we are told everything is going just as it should. She is an active little one, the ultrasound tech said we have a gymnast on our hands! The doctor also said that I am healthy too.
We will post pictures from the ultrasound soon, but for now we have to go pack for our trip to Iowa for Thanksgiving.
Happy Turkey Day to all!!

5 months and a doctor visit

We had our first baby doctor appointment in SC today. The doctor was really nice and we had a very thorough visit. We heard the babies heart beat too, it was beating at 152, which is strong and right where it should be. We will go back on November 19th for the big ultrasound. They will check a lot of things with the baby and we can find out the gender, if we want to. Don't ask though because we don't know if we are finding out yet.

This is my 5 month baby bump shot, and I am wearing my favorite purple shirt!

Happy Halloween

Every year at the Credit Union each service center can choose a theme to decorate for Oct.31 This year Uptown chose Under the Sea. All of our decorations and fish hats were hand made by the employees at Uptown. We had fun wearing "relaxed" clothes for the day and handing out candy to our members. We may have eaten some ourselves too! :)

As you can see we have a VERY creative group of people at our service center!

Back in good old SC

Well, we have been back in SC for a week now. It has taken some doing but we finally have internet at the house again so I am back to blogging. We had quite the adventure on the way back from Oregon, there was not one day in our travels when we did not hit some form of precipitation. The most dangerous and beautiful was the snow!

These first two pictures where taken while we sat on the interstate in Idaho. There were so many Semi's off the road that needed towed we went 2 miles in three hours.

Thank goodness for books on CD so we had some entertainment!

These pics were taken in Wyoming.

The roads were still covered in ice but the sun had finally come out.
Once we got to Nebraska it all turned to rain, which did not make our travels any easier, at times the wipers on high seemed to be useless. Thank God we made it home in one piece, he protected us in our travels!
We do miss Oregon but it is nice to be home and in familiar surroundings with good friends.

Adios Oregon

So, today I am putting the finishing touches on packing. Tomorrow Adam will work a half day or so and we will start heading down the road back to South Carolina. We will make a few stops on the way but the most important is in Iowa to pick up Toby and spend a day with family. We have had a blast here in Oregon and I must say we will miss it! However I am excited to be back in our home and catch up with our friends.

Look for our next blog when we are back in South Carolina. :)

If you think about it, say a prayer for safe travels and good weather!

Roloff Farms

Today we went to Roloff Farms! If you don't watch Little People, Big World on TLC you should start. The new season starts Monday October 13th. I was soooooo excited, Adam was a good sport to come with me. Although I think he did enjoy watching them try to get the pumpkin launcher up and running.

This is the barn where you buy your pumpkins and souvenirs.

Pumpkin launcher with the camera crew from the show getting shots for this seasons show.

That is Matt's head between the boards there.

Jeremy came to help his dad with the launch.

A better picture of Matt.

Amy and Matt looking on at the pumpkin launcher.

The pumpkin launcher actually broke the first time they tried it today, this is Matt talking to one of the guys helping with the launch about why it broke.

Me in one of the pumpkin patches.

Proof that Adam came with me. We set the camera on a pumpkin and took our own shot.

This is the Roloff's newly remodeled house. It looks really nice!

On our tractor tour Zach came out of the house, he waved at us and said HI!

Jacob was at the Western Town where we got to stop and look around. This place would have been soo cool to play in as a kid.

I got locked in the Jail of the Western Town.

Jacob came and loaded us all up on our tractor to finish our tour.

This is Matt's parents at the Western Town.

The famous tree house.

This was the end of our tractor tour. We had a really nice time, there were not the many people there so we did not have to wait in any lines. It was so neat to see everything like it is on the show. How cool!! We saw everyone except Molly, she was at a volleyball tournament.
